Vintage 1920 1940 Childrens Clothing Apparel

The Gatherings Antique Vintage selection of antique and vintage children's clothing and apparel dates from the later 1920's to the later 1940's.  Many of our items are more than suitable for childrens re-enactment or renaissance accessories. The fashions from this time period range from simple home sewn with many made of feed or flour sacking, to fashionable store bought clothing.

Although many families struggled with the hardship of little money, mothers were resourceful using their needlework skills to create enchanting clothing for their little ones.  I think you will find some wonderfully unique, if not one of a kind, vintage children's clothing from this era ~ a tribute to the women that made them.

Even with the struggle through the Depression years, some families were more fortunate being able to purchase store bought clothes, or at least on occasion.  Possibly  having clothing of a little more "refinement", maybe for Sunday best. Some of those extra special pieces are also offered here.     

Many of our vintage children's clothing treasures include outer clothing, underwear, shoes, hats and other children's accessories. If you like to sew you will also find vintage children patterns from such companies as Butterick, Simplicity and McCall to name a few.  

The age groups represented here are from baby to toddler, young child to pre-teen.
