A 1930s Depression era quilt in the Round The World Pattern. Small 1 1/2 inch squares make up this multi calico & solid fabric quilt. There certainly are a lot of squares in this quilt!
The pointed squares along the outside edge are of a dull shade of orange while the backing of quilt is a peach. Summer weight quilt with no batting between the top & backing.
Each square is quilted along the outside edge. Five stitches to the inch. This is a particularly large quilt measuring 92" x 104" and certainly a colorful graphic one.
I found no damage to the top of the quilt but did find several water stains to the backing. Looking at the top in these areas I do not detect the stain has come through to the top side.
For that reason plus a little soiling along the very points of the orange border I would say the quilt may not have been recently laundered. However, it does smell very clean. A lovely quilt.
