Fabulous unworn, still with store tags, 1940's to 1950's lady's dressing or night gown in the most luscious color.
Beautiful Alencon lace in an ercu color is inset from neck line to hem on the center front. The lace also trims the edge of sleeves, collar and hemline.
A goregous contrast between the eruc lace and the color of the satin fabric. Three tiny buttons adorn the front bodice, however, they are only decoration. No openings or fastenings to the gown as it slipped over the head.
The label states the fabric is silk and rayon styled in Velveglo satin. And I must admit the feel is absolutely luxurious.
Pretty ties on either side of the gown help to adjust the fit.
I do want to mention about the interesting hem line ~ not only does it have a slight train in the back it curves dramatically upward to the center front with the lace open 6" from the hem ~ as seen in the above photo.
I also love the cut of the back of the gown above the natural waist.

The size label states the gown is a size 17. Here are a few measuresments: 53" long from the neckline to the hem. 46" long center front. 56-1/2" long center back. 12-1/2" across from shoulder to shoulder. Bust 38" . Natural waist is 32".
Although this garment is quite nice and almost mint I did notice a tiny smudge from storage near the bottom of gown.
