A shimmery post war 1940's rayon dressing gown / robe in a soft gorgeous rayon fabric that is sure to please.
A quality gown with nice finishing details including a hand rolled hem and cartridge pleating at the waistline plus the armhole opening .
Gown is sleeveless with a double ruffle at the armhole opening. One of the ruffles then extends to the waistline. Edged with a lovely ivory cotton lace trim.
Snap closure at the front of the waist with one snap extending to below the waist.
Concealed metal zipper closes the remainder of the front of the garment to almost the hem.
Ties on either side of the front opening loop around to the back for adjusting somewhat the fit.
A closer look at the ties and the detail to the cartridges pleats of the waistband.
No sizing or labels. Although worn ~ it has been gently worn and very well cared for with the condition being very nice.
No flaws except for a couple tinnest smudge of oxidation near the hem line and one near the waist.
Measurements: Length of garment is 52" long from the neckline to hem. 32" bust. 24" waist.
