Product Information
Lady's wonderful late Victorian white cotton dressing gown with tatted trim around the stand up collar, insertion down the front on either side of the opening, top of shoulders and around the cuff of the sleeves. Gown buttons down the front three quarters of the way. Although there are button holes to the hem line this seamstress evidently changed her mind with the opening just partial way down the front & the remainder sewn closed. The buttons are pearl with incised design. One is missing at the bottom of opening. Three wide tucks on either side of the front falling in folds below the tucks. Gown has been laundered & pressed. Condition is very good. Length of the gown is 53" long from the neck line to hem. 18" across the shoulders with the shoulder line slightly dropped. Quite generous through the chest area measuring 50" around. Length of the sleeve is 22" long.
