Product Information
A Little Bit Fancy ~ A Little Bit Plain
Now here is a real cute lady's bodice dating from the late Victorian era / 1900's. It is made of a blue and white plaid cotton (does remind me of homespun but not)) with abalone buttons down the front to fasten. One button missing under the ruffled collar at the neck. This button does not show so could be replaced with one that blended but not matched if need be. Shaped bodice is accented with a ruffle at the hem dipping to a V at center front as well as center back. Long sleeves with the inside of the cuffs in a plain blue fabric. Muslin lined on the bodice only but not sleeves. Bodice front and back has no boning. Condition is very nice considering the age. I found a couple of small to tiny holes and a few small spots of oxidation. However, all minor. Size: smaller as many were for the time period. Measurements: 23" long from the neckline to hem. 24" long center back. 12-1/2" across from shoulder to shoulder. 31" bust. Waist: 26". Sleeve length: 20" long.
