Product Information
Since the beginning of time and throughout the centuries the art of dressing legs in hosiery became fashionable. Both for men and women although for the latter the enjoyment of beautiful stockings were purely for themselves as clothing covered any view of artfully dressed legs.
Athough stockings were still short above the knee and held into place by garters, "suspenders" were being added to the corset attaching the top of the stockings to the corset towards the last decade of the Victorian era.
The stockings / hosiery above are of a cotton in a bolder plaid pattern and date from the 1890's into the early 1900's .
I believe they are unused or with minimun usage.
Length from the top to toe is 31" long. Toe to heel measurement is 9" long.
