A glamorous 1930's dress in a marroon silk chiffon velvet fabric ~ fabric that is so supple that is it so beautiful to wear as it is to the touch.
The dress is a street length afternoon or cocktail dress with nice detailing across the shoulders and front of skirt. Simple scoop neck.
Several rows of shirring adds dramatic detail to the shoulder area. Raglan style sleeves.

Sizes then run differently than sizes today....below are the actual measurements.
Measurements: 48" long from the neckline to hem. Bust: 32" around. Waist: 27" around. 32" hip
Underarm side zipper for easy on and off.
Condition of the dress is very nice. The only flaw I found is to one of the thread belt loops which is loose at the top. A couple stitches would fix.
The dress is missing the belt.
