Gorgeous Late Victorian - 1920's Silk And Velvet Ribbon Sash
I am offering this outstanding ribbon dress sash from the late Victorian - 1920's era.
It is so rare in today's market to find such a magnificient piece of ribbon work in impecible condition. It is a breaktaking piece to add to a late Victorian - Edwardian clothing collection or if you are a collector of ribbons I am sure you will agree it is would be a very worthy addition.
The ribbon is a printed silk ribbon with a black background. The lighter roses, background flowers and leaves are in silk while the jewel-tone burgandy roses are of cut velvet. Giving slightly a raised look to the overall beauty of this delectable piece.

The beautiful hand tied fringe at either end of the sash also reflects the jewel-tone colors of shades of burgandy, rose, greens, purple and lavendar. The fringe is probably a silk rayon measuring 12-1/2" long.
A closer view of the fringe.
The sash measures 94" long including the fringe on either end. The width of the sash is 8-3/4" wide. The gorgeous roses measure about 3" wide.
The condition of the sash is truly remarkable with no splits in the silk. When held to the light I can see a few tiny pinholes.
