A lovely late Victorian or early 1900s cotton hanky in a poppy print fabric. Often times ladies would sew these lovely hankies into decorative toss pillows. I have seen where the hanky would be cut apart in four sections with lace sewn between the sections and then a wide ruffle added. This type of pillow was quite charming. Our ancestors were quite clever, too.
Handkerchief is unused although laundered to freshen. Excellent condition. Size is 17-3/4" square.
