A lovely wooden tole dresser or document box hand painted with a beautiful cluster of roses on the top of lid. Decorated scrolls along the outside edge of lid and through the center of lower part of the box.
Key to lock and unlock the box.
It is a heavy box of nice wood ~ possibly cherry ~ with a pretty grain pattern on the inside and bottom of box. Brass & metal lock mechanism.
Size is 10-1/4" long x 5" wide x 2-3/8" deep.
Age of the tole painted box is from the early 1900's.
Condition is very nice although some hairline cracks in the paint along the top edge. Normal for the age of the box.
