Older girl's 1920 voile dress ~ a girl's sweet summer dress dating from the mid to later 1920's. The voile cotton dress is worked in large diamond shape motifs of drawn lace both on the bodice as well as front of skirt. Skirt back is also accented with this same drawn lace.
To further accent the drawnwork, embroidered flowers and leaves are scattered around. Embroidery stitches also decorates the top of shoulders. Hem stitching on both the skirt and edge of sleeves gives a perfect balance to this charming dress. The size of the diamond shaped drawnwork is 7" x 8". Soft gatherings on either side of dress at the side seams gives the skirt a fuller look. Short opening on either side of the neck on the shoulder seam with a snap closure are the only openings on the dress.
The dress is of a larger size fitting a child age 10 to 12 years of age.
Measurements are ~ 33" long from the neckline to the hem ~ 13" across the shoulders from one to the other. 32" around the chest. Condition: The dress has been laundered and pressed and is in very nice condition.
With a little imagination, all of our vintage children's clothing makes perfect accessories for re-enactment or renaissance costuming.
