Product Information
How perfectly charming is this pair of child's vintage rompers from the 1920s! Probably machine sewn at home from maybe a flour / feed sacking cotton fabric.
The bloomer style drawers button to the waist with some large and some small pearl buttons that have become mismatched over the course of time. Small buttons fasten the back opening of the top down the back. White cotton trims the square neckline, cuff of sleeves & pants.
Applique pocket of Sunbonnet Sue with her watering can on one side of the front while the other side is appliqued with flowers. This little outfit has been lovingly worn but still in very decent condition showing some minimal wear. No holes or stains.
Outfit measures 19-1/2" long from the neckline to the hem. Measurement is approx 11" across the shoulder from one side to the other as the sleeve line is raglan so there is no definite shoulder seam. 21" around the waist. Length of the bloomers from the waist to the center of crotch is 9-1/2" long. A wonderful example from this time period.
Although this particular piece is not suitable for renaissance or re-enactment wear, with a little imagination, all of our vintage children's clothing makes perfect accessories for acting or drama club costuming.
