Blue Cotton Vintage 1920s Child Sailor Suit And Socks
Calling all ship mates! The regatta of pond boat races are about to begin!
And what could be more suitable than a young lad to wear to the races than this blue cotton short pants sailor suit. A perfect outfit including the blue stockings with the white stripes.
The top features long sleeves with buttons at the wrist. Red stripe on one shoulder and boat/anchor ensigna on the other. Slash pocket on one side of the top.
Short pants button on either side of the waist as well as one button on the hip. I notice the button in the pocket area on the one side is missing.
The label on the suit is from the H & C Company, New York and the size indicated is a 7.
Measurements: Top ~ Length of the top from the neckline to hem is 18" long. The width across the shoulders is 14". Chest measurement is 31" around. Sleeve length 13-3/4" long.
Short Pants ~ 15" from the waist to hem. 26" around the waist.
Stockings ~ measuring from the top of the stockings to the toe 14" long. Toe to heel measurement is 6-1/2" long.
Condition of the outfit is very nice. Some oxidation/soiling to the feet of the stockings.

Although this particular piece is not suitable for renaissance or re-enactment wear, with a little imagination, all of our vintage children's clothing makes perfect accessories for acting or drama club costuming.
