Product Information
An intriguing Edwardian hat dating from the early part of the 1900's - 1920's. The hat consist of a combination of a rolled horsehair brim and tulle netting crown.
Both the crown and the brim are covered with black sequin and small beads worked into a pleasing pattern. Larger glass rounds embellishments accent the center of the curves and scrolls.
Long ostrich feathers mixed in the colors of black and brown give a "drapery" affect to the one side of the hat.
Structural condition of the hat is good. You will find some loss of beading as noted in the second photograph of the brim area.
No loss of beading in the crown area.
Also discoloration to many of the smaller beads ~ I assume this may be from storage.
The inside circumference of the hat is 22-1/2". Width of the brim at the inside is 1-3/8" wide. Height of crown is 3" tall.
