Fabulous never worn late Edwardian - 1920's Italian petticoat / slip. Gorgeous hand cut work embroidery follows the curvature of the neck line on the front only and around the edge of the neckline and arm hole openings. This same beautiful embroidery is worked on the bottom and scalloped hem line of the petticoat.
The work at the bottom measures 8" wide and is worked completely around both front and back. Ribbon accent further embellishes the petticoat. The full petticoat is nipped with several tucks at the waist near and on the side seams to give some fit to the waist. The fabric is of a crispy cotton.
The petticoat has never been laundered so some evidence of the stencil lines that formed the design can be seen. This stenciling should all launder out when washed.
Length of the slip from the shoulder to hem is 45" long. 16" across the shoulders. 44" around the bust. 38" around the waist. Beautiful condition but you will find some slight oxidation from storage.
