Product Information
A very sweet older girl's Edwardian dress dating about 1910. The dress is made of batiste fabric and lavished with whitework embroidery, lace and pin tucks. Lappets of whitework embroidery trimmed in lace fall loosely over the shoulders, extending to below the drop waist on the front suggest a pinafore.
Yoke is filled with rows of lace sewn togther as is the edge of the sleeves. Skirt is several rows of pin tucks with a row of inertion lace between the grouping of tucks. Look at the back of the dress. Notice the lappets extend a short ways down the back. Back closing with three rows of pin tucks on either side of the back opening. One small repair near the drop waist at the edge of opening. Expertly mended long ago.
Measurements: 31" long from the neckline to the hem. 11" across the shoulders. 32" around the chest area and the same around the natural waist.
Condition of the dress is very nice, however, as with all antique and vintage clothing do expect a few flaws. A couple of pin holes here and there. No major damage. Dress has been cleaned and pressed.
This type of dress was worn loose. Dress would fit a girl about 10 years of age.
With a little imagination, all of our vintage children's clothing makes perfect accessories for re-enactment or renaissance costuming, or photography work.
