Product Information
This Victorian - Edwardian child's bonnet is an outstanding find and I am so pleased to be offering it. I think you will agree, it is quite beautiful.
The bonnet features a wide wired stand up brim covered with openwork lace on the top side. Underneath is a light blue fine faille silk that is ruffled and gathered to the wire.
The crown of the bonnet is also wired with tan fabric and openwork lace covering the circle of the crown. The same fabric forms a ruffle at the edge of the neckline at the back of the bonnet.
Middle of the bonnet is covered in openwork lace over the same tan fabric as the ruffles. Plenty of light blue silk ribbons adorn this bonnet!!
Bonnet is in very nice condition and has been stored away for almost 80 years.
It is lined in muslin with a bit of oxidation to the lining and a tiny amount of shredding to the ribbons. Minor though. There are no ties to the bonnet nor can I find any evidence there were, however, it would seem to me, there should have been.
Measurements: 7" along the back of the neckline from one side to the other. Measuring around the brim area along the face, it is 15" from side to side. Depth of the bonnet from the brim to crown is 4-1/2". Would fit a child about 2 yrs of age.
Splendid for a larger doll!
