Product Information I'm offering this early calico baby dress with a notation it was made in 1847. Early clothes are always a joy to acquire as less and less of them are available for purchase. This little dress has been in my personal collection for some time but it is time to relinquish possession into the hands of someone else that will care for it as I have. The long dress is in a red on creamy white print fabric. Very small in scale. The dress is completely hand stitched. The bodice and the skirt are gathered onto a narrow casing waist band . Tiny cartridge pleats secure the bodice & skirt to this waist band. Wide scoop neckline with drawstrings at both the neckline and waist to tie closed. At this point I will tell you one of the drawstrings at the neckline has slipped back inside of the casing. It is not visible so the neckline can not be tied until this would be remedied. Two rows of creamy white braid decorates the edge of the short sleeves and is the only trim on the dress. Length of the dress is 28-3/4" long. 8" across the shoulders. 17" around the waist. Condition: It is remarkably good condition for the age. There are no tears and only a small amount of oxidation. A couple of very minor pinholes in the fabric.
