Child sweet pantalettes underwear garment in a dimity and muslin fabric dating from 1840 - 1850 fitting a child about 4 years of age. Many of our items are more than suitable for childrens re-enactment or renaissance accessories.

The bodice is of a muslin with the rest of the piece of dimity fabric including the straps. China buttons fasten the waistband on either side as well as securing the bodice opening.

What can I say except the pair did see some usage and definitely have been mended. To me it just adds more charm! And yes, it does show oxidation from many long years of storage.

Gathered ruffle and band at each of the leg openings. The garment is completely handstitched.

Size measurements: Measuring from the middle of the shoulder strap to the edge of the ruffle it is 24" long. 18" around the chest. 18" around the waist. Length of the pants from the waist to the edge of ruffle18-1/4" long. From the waist to the middle of the crotch 9".

Condition is decent considering the age. Mended areas on each leg. A few small holes and frays to the fabric.

Perfect for display or study of underclothing from the time period.
