For all country primitives lovers, if you love the color of brown calico, you will find this whole cloth tied comforter tempting! Dating from the 1890's, both sides are of the same fabric. Thickly padded with wool batting, it would have given warmth on the cold winter nights in a drafty home.
Not only is it practical, the colors and fabric are quite beautiful. Size is 70" x 85".
I noticed some damage at this one edge - possibly caught & torn or maybe some damage to the fabric, itself. Measures about 1-2" in length and about 1" at the widest point. Fabric is there if a patch could be laid underneath to secure. I think this would be a way to fix. It could also be mended with a patch laid over the top of the damage. On the other side I noticed a tiny corner tear - about 1/4" x 1/4". Again on the edge.
This is a small amount of damage and certainly does not detract from the beauty.
