The needlework of a fine monogram is truly an art to behold and this lovely Victorian sham only gets better. Dating from the later 1800 the sham is embroidered in the tambour stitch in a pleasing design of trailing vine and clusters of grapes. It is heavily encrusted with embroidery stitches almost covering the entire sham.
The initials of L. T. is encircled with a wreath of vines and clusters. All corners of the sham displays the intricate pattern. 2-1/2" wide hand fillet crochet edges the sham. It is a layover type with no backing. Certainly a backing could be easily added if wanted.
The size of the sham is 34" L x 36" W. Freshly laundered and pressed. It is in beautiful condition.
