Product Information Mid 19th century indigo blue and white hand woven center seamed overshot coverlet. The coverlet dates circ 1840's - 1860's. It is an unsigned coverlet from the upper rural New York area and may I say, in extremely wonderful condition. I found no stains, holes, or repairs, which I find incredible for the age. The thread on the center seam is also intact. Old cleaning tag attached to one corner indicating it had been cleaned at some point before storing away. It is fringed on the one end only with some of the weaving of the indigo entwined in the fringe. Interesting and decorative. The fringe measures 4" wide. The other end of the coverlet has been folded and hand stitched. The overall size of the coverlet is 67" wide x 97-1/2" long. (Width to the center seam on each section would be 33-1/2" wide.) Looking at the back side of coverlet on the fold over. A nice opportunity to purchase a well cared for coverlet.
