Now here is a wonderful old Victorian sewing pincushion made of carved horn
.
A velvet & silk fabric stitched together then inserted into the end of the pincushion. A chain is added for hanging.
The horn is carved in a nice incised loop & scroll design which measures 4" long x 3-1/2" around the horn. Entire length of pincushion is 12". 6-1/2" circumference at the widest point.
I find the horn in in very nice condition with some splitting of the fabric on the cushion.
