Dated 1902 and initialed M R this schoolgirl sewing practice stitches sampler comprises of a variety of stitches, correct attaching of hook and eye as well as button.
On the reverse end are thread loops for hooks, button holes and eyelet. Center of sampler are different types of seams, hemstitching and embroidery work.
All work is done on cotton with cotton thread. Size of the sampler is 26-1/2" long x 12-1/4" wide.
It is American made coming from upstate New York. A nice sampler practice stitches in good condition.
