An embroidered and hand quilted quilt with one of the blocks dating it 1932 and another with the initials of P H. Even though the Depression era did bring clouds of despair, hope was found in cheery colors such as the mustard yellow and salmon pink sashing of this fun embroidered quilt.
The quilt is made of 88 blocks with each block measuring 6" square. No two blocks are alike but many of the same subject matter, such as animals, insect and flowers, childhood activites and sweet sentiments, such as the delightful " To My Valentine".
Overall measurement of the quilt is 75" x 83". Quilting stitches measure 9 stitches to the inch. Hand quilted and hand embroidered.
Although the condition is very nice I did find a few small areas of oxidation from storage.
Backing of the quilt is white muslin. Quilt is bound in a yellow/gold, turned and handstitched on the back.
This is a very nice quilt with little or no usage. A delightful pattern. This item will be shipped FedEx.
