Product Information
An adorable cabinet photograph of a little Victorian era girl about 3 years of age. As I look at the photo I notice her hair is parted in the center with a mass of tight ringlets forming at the ends of the hair. Her very frilly dress is especially nice of hand embroidered whitework encompassing most of the skirt.
Puffy sleeves with caps over the sleeves and a rounded collar accented with a bar pin at the throat. The style of the dress suggest the date of the photo about 1890's. I believe she may be wearing a ring on her middle finger.
The bottom of the card is imprinted with J. Howard Baker, Photographer, 51 West Van Buren St. No mention of a city. (Update: with research from a friend it has been determine this photographer was working in Battle Creek, Mi. from about 1893 to 1918).
Photograph is good condition with one bend at the bottom corner. Size is 4-1/4" x 6-1/2".
