Original French millinery hat trim or dress sash/ tassel embellishment, this gold metallic embroidery and beaded piece is quite magnificent. Dating from the later Edwardian era into the 1920's, it has never been used and still retains its string tag. Only written numbers on the tag are present.
The piece is rather stiff, made on buckram then covered with embroidery stitches, both in metallic thread as well as colored silk/rayon thread. Small oranges beads and "button" type embellishments down through the center. The piece does fold in the center.

Condition: Although never used, one of the threaded "buttons" in the center has started to unravel some. I doubt that it will any further but it is damaged. (see photo above). Otherwise very nice.
Measurements: when completed opened it is 12-3/8" long point to point. Width is 2-7/8" wide.
This is a lovely offering and part of the wonderful collection of French beaded trims and embellishments I have purchased.
