Product Information
Dating from the 1920s or perhaps a bit earlier a lovely unused hand embroidered bed sheet and two matching pillowcases. The set is edged with a pretty crochet trim that resembles silk but probably a rayon thread. The fabric of the set is a high quality cotton which may have a blend of linen. It really is quite nice.
The embroidery work on the set is a delicate floral pattern done in white, red and lavendar. This pretty embroidery measures 22" long x 11" wide on the sheet. Both the sheet as well as pillowcases have a row of insertion crochet measuring 1" in width. The crochet edging trim measures 3" wide. This same edging and insertion trim is the full width of the sheet along the top edge, extending 40" down either side to form a sheet return.
Although the condition is unused you may find some oxidation from storage. I also noticed some slight smudging along the fold of the sheet near the embroidery work. I'm sure this rub mark occurred in storage and should launder out. The only damage I did find is to a small portion of crochet edging on one of the pillowcases. It is on the back side of the case which perhaps was caught (see photo). So would need a few stitches to mend.
Size of the sheet is 92 x 120. The size of the pillowcases are 18" wide x 34-1/2" long.
Smudge on the sheet.
Damage to the pillowcase.
