Mid 19th Century 1870 Brown Calico Antique Doll Dress
If you love 19th Century doll clothing made of calicos, this little dress will pull at your heart strings. The scale of fabric is in perfect harmony for the size of the dress and if the color of brown is your choice, well here's a chance to own an early dress.
Measurements: Length of the dress is 13-1/2" long. from the neck line to the hem. 4-1/2" across from shoulder to shoulder. 5" around the waist. Sleeve length 4-3/4" long. 7" around the chest.
I love this dress but it does have some flaws. Under arm seam needs a few stitches to secure - this is minor. A straight split of fabric on the bodice near the opening about 1/2" long. One at the top of sleeve near the shoulder as you can notice from the above photo. This, too, is 1/2" in length. Also one small to tiny hole in the bodice. About the same size in the skirt. Some natural soiling and oxidation.
What can I say, except too, this dress is wonderful in spite of the imperfections.
Self fabric trims out the neck line and waist band.
Cartridge pleats at the waist.
