Antique Sensible sad iron # 6 manufactured by Nelson R. Streeter & Co, upstate New York. The iron base is marked with N.R.S. & Co, Sensible No 6. The removable handle is of cast iron and wood. The handle, pointed on the two ends, slips into the cast iron base to fit tightly for usage.
Original black painted handle / wood turned handle grip. Some paint loss to the handle as shown below, however, it is in relatively very nice condition.
Length of the base of the iron is 3-7/8" long from point to point. Width across the widest part of the base is 1-7/8" wide. Height is 3-3/8" tall.
Condition: although very nice you will find some slight surface rust to the sides of the base. In actuality though this is a very nice iron.
Nice patina to the wooden grip.
