Late Edwardian 1920 Presentation Gift Box With Unused Pair Embroidery Hankies
Here is a lovely presentation handkerchief box still containing two unused embroidered hankies dating from the late Edwardian to 1920. The box, with its delicate color and small flora print is reminiscent of the pretty wallpapers of the day. To further enhance, the lithograph of the young lady with frilly bonnet adds a lovely refinement to the box and contents
Ribbon and pins secure the hankies to the paper liner of the box. Tagged on the ribbon reads " warrented all pure linen embroidered by hand". I found no other labels attached to the hankies.
Included inside the box were a couple of little paper scraps and two calling cards.
Condition of the hankies, although unused, they do show some oxidation marking from years of storage.
Box, itself, is very nice with only normal usage over the years. A tiny bit of paper loss on the plain cardboard box back. Size of the box is 6-3/4" wide x 11-1/4" long.
